Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizing the ANA Nursing Process (2010) involves executing the subsequent tasks:

  • Gathers extensive information relevant to the health and circumstances of healthcare consumers.
  • Examines the assessment information to identify the diagnosis or problems at hand.
  • Determines projected results for a personalized strategy tailored to the healthcare recipient in question.
  • Creates a structured approach outlining tactics and choices to achieve desired results.
  • Carries out the specified strategy. Guarantees advancement of the patient following the strategy.
  • Care Coordination - ensures the seamless delivery of care.
  • Health teaching and health promotion involve utilizing methods to encourage wellness and create a secure setting.
  • Consultation involves advanced practice nurses and nursing role specialists offering guidance to impact the established strategy, improve the skills of individuals, and bring about transformation.
  • Assesses the advancement made in achieving desired results.

Adheres to the guidelines set out in the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Enhancing nursing practice in a systematic manner improves its quality and effectiveness
  • Achieves the understanding and proficiency that mirrors contemporary nursing standards
  • Assessing individual nursing performance concerning professional practice standards, as well as guidelines and the pertinent laws, rules, and regulations

  • Practicing within the legal boundaries of a state-regulated Registered Professional Nurse involves providing proficient care that aligns with established standards, policies, laws, and the guidelines of regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Skillfully utilizes suitable technology and software for:

  • Assist and record nursing tasks and patient treatment.
  • Utilize various work-related applications essential for active participation within the organization, including but not limited to accessing corporate email, engaging with iLearn courses, participating in employee surveys on engagement, reviewing details about benefits and compensation, and familiarizing oneself with company policies and protocols.
  • Always striving to enhance the standard of patient care by actively searching for new ways to address challenges with original and inventive solutions.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
