Job Description

Essential Functions:

Applies the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to complete the following tasks:

  • Gathers extensive information relevant to the health status or circumstances of the healthcare recipient.
  • Reviews the assessment information to ascertain the diagnosis or problems.
  • Forecasts the expected achievements for a personalized program tailored to the individual healthcare consumer.
  • Constructs a plan that proposes strategies and options for realizing expected results.
  • Operates on the identified plan. Secures the patient's advancement on the plan.
  • Coordination of Care is about harmonizing the delivery of care.
  • Health Education and Encouragement of a Healthy Environment - implements techniques to promote well-being and ensure a secure surrounding.
  • Advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists engage in consultation to impact the established plan, enhance the competencies of others, and facilitate change.
  • Judges the evolution in reaching the set targets.

Adhering to the Guidelines of the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • - Systematic approaches are employed to elevate the effectiveness and quality of nursing care
  • Attains knowledge and proficiency consistent with the current trends in nursing practice
  • Reflecting on one's nursing practice regarding professional standards, guidelines, and applicable regulations
  • Connects with and assists in the development of fellow professionals in the workplace
  • Jointly participates with patients, their families, and other parties in nursing procedures
  • Embeds ethical standards in every aspect of their work
  • Synthesizing research discoveries into practical applications
  • In the preparation and execution of nursing care, one must consider elements concerning the security and protection of both patients and healthcare providers, as well as the effectiveness of the interventions provided
  • Takes charge in the professional practice scenario and the professional sphere
  • Carrying out operations in a manner that is both environmentally conscious and health-conscious
  • Supports the intention, direction, and principles of Monument Health.
  • In adherence to state regulations and professional standards, Registered Professional Nurses must practice within the legal boundaries and ensure that their care is in line with the expectations set by accrediting organizations and regulatory bodies.
  • Follows the ethical norms outlined in the Code of Ethics for Nurses published by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Skillfully leverages relevant technology and software to achieve objectives:

  • Help with documenting nursing interventions and patient care activities.
  • Access other work-related applications necessary to be an engaged and active associate of the organization, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, benefits and compensation information, and policies and procedures.
  • Shows a proactive approach to improving patient care by consistently seeking innovative and creative solutions.
  • Any other duties deemed essential will be assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
