Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizing the ANA Nursing Process (2010) facilitates the completion of the subsequent tasks:

  • Obtains comprehensive data that is relevant to the well-being and situations of healthcare recipients.
  • Study the assessment information to determine the diagnosis or highlight any issues.
  • Predicts the expected consequences for a customized program catered to the healthcare user at hand.
  • Designs a blueprint prescribing tactics and choices to reach desired outcomes.
  • Enacts the identified plan and monitors the patient's advancement along the plan.
  • Coordination of care entails managing the delivery of healthcare.
  • Health education and health promotion both utilize methods aimed at enhancing overall well-being and fostering a secure setting.
  • The consultation process with the APRN and nursing role specialist aims to guide, empower, and instigate changes to enhance the performance and outcomes in nursing practice.
  • Tracks the development in meeting expected outcomes.

Conducts themselves in accordance with the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Nursing practice is systematically refined to enhance its quality and effectiveness
  • Develops proficiency and understanding that align with present-day nursing protocols
  • Assessing personal nursing performance based on established standards and guidelines, as well as applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborates with and adds value to the professional growth of peers and colleagues
  • Involves the patient, family, and other relevant parties in the implementation of nursing care
  • Ethical provisions are embedded throughout various spheres of professional activity
  • Integrating research results effectively into practical strategies
  • In the design and implementation of nursing services, it is crucial to take into consideration aspects like safety, efficiency, expenses, and consequences on operational methods
  • Demonstrates leadership within the context of professional practice and the overarching discipline
  • Carrying out operations with a focus on environmental safety and promoting health
  • Assists in upholding the mission, objectives, and principles of Monument Health.
  • A Registered Professional Nurse is required to adhere to the legal framework established by the state in which they work, delivering proficient and consistent care that meets the criteria laid out by regulatory bodies, accreditation agencies, and professional organizations.
  • Conforms to the ethical standards outlined in the Code of Ethics for Nurses established by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Skillfully integrates appropriate technology and software to:

  • Support nurses in their activities and maintain records of patient care.
  • Make use of pertinent work-related software critical for being a committed and dynamic team member within the organization, including but not limited to the company email platform, interactive iLearn courses, surveys for employee engagement, details regarding benefits and remuneration packages, as well as guidelines and protocols.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
