Job Description

Essential Functions:

By following the ANA Nursing Process (2010), one can fulfill the designated roles:

  • Collates exhaustive information essential for understanding the health and context of healthcare customers.
  • Study the assessment information to determine the diagnosis or highlight any issues.
  • Envisions the projected achievements for a tailored plan personalized to the healthcare client involved.
  • Drafts a plan that proposes approaches and choices to attain expected outcomes.
  • Takes steps to implement the identified plan and ensures the patient's progression aligns with the plan.
  • Care coordination involves synchronizing healthcare services.
  • The emphasis of health teaching and health promotion is on utilizing strategies that foster health and a secure environment.
  • The consultation services offered by the APRN and nursing role specialist focus on influencing the identified plan, strengthening the abilities of individuals, and facilitating positive changes in nursing practice.
  • Monitors the advancement towards the accomplishment of goals.

Aligns their professional behavior with the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Enhancing nursing practice is done systematically to elevate its overall standard
  • Acquires knowledge and skills that demonstrate up-to-date nursing practice standards

  • Respects and upholds the ethical guidelines outlined in the Code of Ethics for Nurses published by the ANA in 2010.

Effectively applies relevant technology and software to:

  • Help in documenting nursing procedures and patient care provided.
  • Make use of pertinent work-related software critical for being a committed and dynamic team member within the organization, including but not limited to the company email platform, interactive iLearn courses, surveys for employee engagement, details regarding benefits and remuneration packages, as well as guidelines and protocols.
  • Regularly explores avenues to enhance the quality of patient care delivery through inventive and resourceful approaches to problem-solving.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Experience - 1+ years of Case Management Experience; 1+ years of Patient Care Experience

Physical Requirements:

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
