Job Description

Essential Functions:

Implements the ANA Nursing Process (2010) for executing designated duties:

  • Compiles in-depth information that is applicable to the health and/or situation of the healthcare consumer.
  • Reviews evaluation results to pinpoint the diagnosis or issues at hand.
  • Recognizes potential results for a tailored approach intended for the healthcare consumer within the scenario.
  • Crafts a well-thought-out proposal detailing approaches and backups to reach projected results.
  • Puts into action the specified blueprint. Ensures that the patient is moving forward as per the plan.
  • Coordination of Care involves managing the integration of healthcare services.
  • Teaching about health and promoting health involve tactics aimed at advancing well-being and ensuring safety.
  • The advanced practice nurse and nursing role specialist engage in consultation to help shape the identified plan, boost the competencies of others, and facilitate alterations.
  • Assesses the headway in reaching the desired results.

Practices in accordance with the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Elevating the level of nursing practice through organized and structured methods
  • Demonstrates aptitude and competence in line with the latest nursing practices
  • Reviewing one's nursing practice concerning professional standards, guidelines, and relevant laws and regulations
  • Participates in and supports the professional progress of fellow workers and team members
  • Works jointly with the patient, their relatives, and other relevant parties while delivering nursing services
  • The integration of ethical standards is pervasive in all practice domains
  • Bridging the gap between research results and practical application is important
  • In the preparation and execution of nursing care, it is important to consider elements like safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and influence on operational methods
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities within the professional realm and the broader industry
  • Conducting activities in a manner that prioritizes both environmental well-being and personal health
  • Sustains the objectives, perspective, and ethics of Monument Health.
  • The responsibilities of a Registered Professional Nurse are defined by state regulations and require them to provide proficient care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and laws.
  • Follows the regulations established in the Nursing Code of Ethics by the ANA in 2010.

Skillfully applies appropriate technology and software to:

  • Support the documentation of nursing activities and the administration of patient care.
  • Engage with essential professional applications needed to actively participate as a committed and involved team member of the organization, which may involve checking work emails, completing required training modules, participating in surveys to gauge employee satisfaction, accessing information on benefits and remuneration, and staying informed of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Persistently pursuing opportunities to enhance the quality of patient care provision by employing imaginative and innovative methods to solve problems.
  • Responsibilities beyond the stated duties may be allocated.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
