Job Description

Principal Activities: Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) as a guide to carry out the described functions effectively:

• Gathers comprehensive information specific to the healthcare recipient's health and/or current state.
• Utilizes the assessment data to identify the diagnosis or issues at play.
• Specifies the expected outcomes for an individualized plan tailored to the healthcare consumer's specific situation.
• Constructs a detailed plan prescribing approaches and alternatives to achieve expected results.
• Implements the designated agenda. Ensures the patient moves forward as per the plan.
• The coordination of care entails managing the administration of healthcare services.
• Health teaching and promotion activities are designed to promote well-being and secure environments through strategic approaches.
• Through consultation, the advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist work on influencing the identified plan, enhancing the competencies of others, and fostering change.
• Assesses the level of progress in achieving desired results.

Abides by the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010) in all aspects of their work:

• The duties of a Registered Professional Nurse are dictated by state laws and accrediting organizations, requiring them to deliver effective care that meets the necessary standards and guidelines.
• Complies with the regulations detailed in the Code of Ethics for Nurses promulgated by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Demonstrates adeptness in implementing applicable technology and software to:

• Help in documenting nursing tasks and activities related to patient care.
• Utilize key work-related applications essential for actively participating as a dedicated and involved associate in the organization, which may involve accessing corporate email systems, completing relevant training modules, engaging with employee surveys on engagement, reviewing information on benefits and compensation, and familiarizing yourself with company policies and procedures.
• Dedicated to consistently improving the delivery of patient care quality by using innovative and creative problem-solving techniques.
• Additional obligations as needed by the organization.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
