Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the nursing process as outlined by the American Nurses Association (2010) to carry out the subsequent tasks:

  • Examines the evaluation information to identify the diagnosis or problems.
  • Determines the anticipated results for a customized plan tailored to the medical needs of the patient.
  • Creates a blueprint outlining tactics and options to achieve desired results.
  • Executes the designated course of action. Guarantees the advancement of the patient according to the plan.
  • Coordination of care involves organizing the delivery of care.
  • Health education and health promotion involve using tactics to enhance wellness and ensure a secure setting.
  • Consultation involves advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists offering guidance to impact the established strategy, improve the skills of individuals, and bring about a transformation.
  • Assesses the advancement made in achieving desired results.

  • The duties of a Registered Professional Nurse are guided by the regulations set forth by the state in which they practice, ensuring that they provide skilled and appropriate care in accordance with established standards, policies, laws, and the requirements of regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Nursing Code of Ethics by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Demonstrates adept utilization of suitable technology and software for:

  • Assist and record nursing tasks and patient treatment.
  • Utilize various work-related applications essential for full participation as a productive member of the company, including corporate email, iLearn courses, staff surveys on engagement, details about benefits and compensation, as well as organizational protocols and guidelines.
  • Consistently looks for chances to enhance the standard of patient care provision by using inventive and original approaches to solving problems.
  • Additional tasks may be required as needed.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
