Job Description

Essential Functions:

Applies the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to conduct the following actions:

  • Compiles extensive data that is important for understanding the health of the consumer or their specific situation.
  • Reviews the assessment data to ascertain the diagnosis or issues at hand.
  • Establishes the projected achievements for a personalized healthcare strategy for the individual in question.
  • Devises a strategy that recommends approaches and choices to reach anticipated goals.
  • Puts into effect the specified strategy. Secures the patient's development in alignment with the plan.
  • Coordination of care focuses on managing the delivery of healthcare services.
  • Health instruction and health promotion involve utilizing methods to boost health and create a safe environment.
  • The consultation process, carried out by advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists, aims to shape the proposed plan, empower others, and drive positive change.
  • Measures the journey towards reaching set objectives.

  • Improves the quality and efficiency of nursing procedures in a systematic manner

  • The responsibilities of a Registered Professional Nurse are defined by state laws and regulations, requiring them to deliver proficient care that aligns with the standards and guidelines set by relevant regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Follows the standards set forth in the Code of Ethics for Nurses as established by the ANA in 2010.

Effectively employs relevant technology and software to:

  • Aid in documenting nursing interventions and patient healthcare.
  • Engage with essential operational tools required to fulfill responsibilities as a committed employee of the organization, such as accessing corporate email accounts, participating in iLearn training modules, contributing to employee engagement assessments, reviewing benefits and compensation data, and familiarizing oneself with company policies.
  • Persistently pursues opportunities to enhance the level of patient care delivery through innovative and imaginative issue resolution.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
