As a Physical Therapist, operating in the outpatient services area, you will provide direct care to patients of all ages, birth through geriatric, to enhance the physical health and functional abilities. You will also carry out operational duties for the Rehab Services Department as needed. Our physical therapy services are also provided at outreach sites in communities around the area in which you will play an active role in providing care.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates proper critical thinking and discernment in delivering healthcare. Executes all therapy components according to established national, organizational, and evidence-supported protocols. Provides therapy that meets or exceeds departmental performance targets.
• Prompt and precise handling of paperwork to uphold the department's standards for verifying medical necessity.
• Ensures the submission of essential paperwork for billing, maintaining accuracy in charges and authorizations. Shows adept time management skills in line with departmental productivity benchmarks.
• Expresses initiative in personal professional evolution. Concludes all necessary education as required by Monument Health and for licensure/certification promptly. Actively boosts the profession within Monument Health and to the external community.
• Offers guidance that adheres to the standards of state, federal, and professional organizations.
• Engages and informs patients, along with their family members and caregivers, on treatment options, goal setting, and discharge coordination as needed.
• Observes all compliance necessities related to insurance, accreditation, and oversight in accordance with national and state regulatory standards.
• Any remaining assignments will be allocated accordingly.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelors: Physical Therapy

Certification - Physical Therapist (PT) - South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy

Preferred:

Education - Masters: Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
