When the body is in a stress-free place, it is able to focus its resources on mending and healing itself.
In this three-week series, we will incorporate physical postures, breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises such as meditation. The focus will be on the importance of movement to stimulate the immune system, improve flexibility and strength, reducing anxiety and boosting well-being. Participants will also learn to recognize when they are experiencing a stress response and how to implement simple techniques to help develop a calm presence and focus.
Participants will meet twice a week and be guided in a slowly-progressive and controlled practice of yoga.
